An Ecology Survey is an ideal initial survey for small sites where planning permission is not required, such as railway structures or smaller scale worksites. The survey will provide information on any protected species or invasive non-native plant species present on the site or any suitable habitats, where definitive field signs cannot be identified.
The survey will include a brief description of the habitats present on the site but will not include a detailed survey of the habitats and dominant species present or habitat mapping. If this level of detail is required a more detailed Extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey (Preliminary Ecological Appraisal) is a more suitable level of survey.
Ecology surveys will always be supported by a desktop data search carried out through publicly available information sources. Where requested, a full desktop data search with the local ecological records centre can be included.
The findings of our surveys are presented in a comprehensive report including an evaluation of the impacts, appropriate recommendations and where necessary biodiversity enhancements.
All of our surveys are carried out to CIEEM or other appropriate standards with specialised survey techniques and equipment used where necessary.
