Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) is a process of identifying the impact of proposed works on European protected sites and is required under ‘Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010’ where works are proposed in close proximity to a protected site or where works may have an impact on a more distant site.
We will assess the European protected site and any areas sensitive to impacts from the proposed works.
We will identify the key stages of the proposed works and any areas that may have impacts on the protected site, whether directly or indirectly. The level of impact and the required mitigation will then be evaluated.
The HRA will be a comprehensive document outlining the features of the European protected site, the proposed works and the significance of the potential impacts. The document will then assess the impacts and will outline appropriate mitigation.
